EMOTION DYSREGULATION AFFECTS FUNCTIONALITY IN MAJOR DEPRESSIVE DISORDER

Purpose: Mood disorders are recurrent chronic mental illnesses known to affect functionality. In this study, it was aimed compare coping strategies and emotion regulation difficulties in depression bipolar disorder observe the effects of on functionality.
 Methods: 31 patients with (BD), 29 major depressive (MDD), 27 healthy controls (HC) were included study. Participants completed Coping Strategies Inventory (COPE), Bipolar Disorder Functioning Questionnaire (BDFQ), Difficulties Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS), Hamilton Depression (HAM-D), Young Mania Rating (YMRS).
 Results: BD group, a positive significant correlation found between COPE-M DERS scores, negative BDFQ. MDD COPE-A BDFQ statistically significantly predicted positively by negatively DERS.
 Conclusion: It thought that dysregulation may predispose symptomatology clinical course Addressing increasing use adaptive therapeutic interventions contribute improvement functionality as well improvement.
